Art Engaged Member Exclusive! Visit Starn Brothers’ sprawling studio in Beacon New York.
Join us for a visit to the Starn Brothers’ Beacon, New York studio on Friday, July 19th from 11 am – 1 pm.
Doug and Mike Starn (b. 1961) are American artists and identical twins. They first received international attention at the 1987 Whitney Biennial, and most recently wide acclaim for Big Bambú, a roof installation atop the Metropolitan Museum of Art that broke all attendance records. The Starns are concerned largely with chaos, interconnection, and interdependence. They continue to defy categorization, effectively combining traditionally separate disciplines such as photography, sculpture, and architecture.
Optional Day Trip Activities include: 1pm – Lunch (dutch treat) and visit to two nearby emerging artist galleries.
LUNCH – The Round House Restaurant, located in a unique, historic property overlooking a beautiful waterfall, rushing creek and bustling street corner in Beacon.
